Stéphane Aladame honors Burgundy 's terroir by vinifying Chardonnay from the Côte Chalonnaise. Originally from Montagny, he created his domaine in 1992 with just 28 ares of vines. Since then, his vineyards have expanded throughout the Montagny terroir. Today, it includes parcels in the Village and Premier Cru appellations. From the outset, Stéphane Aladame has practiced integrated viticulture. He believes that to make the best Burgundy wines, you need the best fruit. Healthy fruit with good aromas brings balance and freshness to the white wine.

Location of Domaine Stéphane Aladame

Located in Montagny-lès-Buxy, Domaine Stéphane Aladame covers eight hectares, seven of which are in the Montagny Premier Cru appellation. The different vineyard parcels Stéphane works on are : Les Chailloux, Les Maroques, Les Vignes Derrière, Les Coères, Les Burnins, Les Platières, Les Gouresses, Les Las and Les Creux de Beaux Champs. The vines are almost exclusively Chardonnay. A few Aligoté vines can be found on the Chailloux parcel. Around Montagny-lès-Buxy, the vines benefit from clay-limestone soil.

Domaine Stéphane Aladame wines

Domaine Stéphane Aladame offers a selection of white Burgundy wines. The first is a cuvée of Montagny Village, with delicate notes. Two Burgundy cuvées are also available: Crémant de Bourgogne (Chardonnay and Aligoté) and Bourgogne Mon Blanc (100% Chardonnay). Finally, Stéphane Aladame produces Montagny Premier Cru white wine. Some bottles, such as Les Burnins, Les Coères, Les Maroques and Les Vignes Derrière, come from a single climate, while others are the result of a fruit blend. Such is the case with Premier Cru Découverte, a cuvée obtained from young vines on two distinct climates. Premier Cru Sélection Vieilles Vignes, on the other hand, is vinified from the oldest vines on the Montagny terroir.
