Thomas Boccon represents the archetype of a new generation of Burgundy winemakers. Trained at the Lycée Viticole de Meursault, he set out in search of the best know-how available. In his native Meursault, he worked alongside François Mikulski. He then moved to New Zealand for a new experience in winemaking. After his return, Thomas Boccon set up his own white Burgundy wine merchant: Domaine Thomas Boccon. He selects top-quality grapes and vinifies his wines himself. He strives for the authenticity and elegance he has learned from the greatest. In 2020, he joins Domaine François Mikulski alongside his trading activity.

Location of Domaine Thomas Boccon

Thomas Boccon works in the Meursault and Bourgogne Côte d'Or appellations. These are Côte de Beaune vineyards. The white wine produced is exclusively Chardonnay. The Meursault region borders the famous Puligny-Montrachet and Auxey-Duresses vineyards. Developed by the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux, Meursault's vines flourish on limestone marl soils. Burgundy Côte d'Or stretches from the south of Dijon to the Maranges. It's a succession of hillsides. Composed of ancient alluvium, the soils of this Chardonnay are ideally exposed to the east. The vines benefit from a temperate climate. The fruit produced contributes to the flavors and aromas of Burgundy Côte d'Or wines.

Domaine Thomas Boccon wines

Domaine Thomas Boccon offers 3 white Burgundy appellations. A Premier Cru appellation in Meursault, such as the cuvée Meursault Poruzots. Its second wine is the appellation contrôlée Meursault. Finally, he offers a Bourgogne Côte d'Or. Thomas Boccon's wine list remains short. Only 3,000 bottles a year are sold. But the winemaker's objective remains quality. This quest is based on respect for the land. His wines come from vines grown using sustainable methods.
