It was in 1954 that Lucien Ponsot created the family estate in Rully. Fascinated by the vine, he decided to make a place for it on his farm. In 2000, at just 20 years old, Jean-Baptiste took over from his father, Bernard, and created the Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot. From then on, he will be able to proudly express his love for the wines of Burgundy. As soon as he arrived, he planted vines on the domain's land that was still unexploited. The modernization of the work tool is very important to him, so he builds a new vat house and a cellar in 2005.

Geographical location of the Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot

The eight and a half hectares of Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot are located on the best slopes of the Rully appellation. Two-thirds of the estate's vines are in the Premier Cru appellation. Vintage after vintage, Jean-Baptiste Ponsot has never stopped improving his estate. Since 2007, he has been practicing integrated vineyard management, without pesticides or herbicides. His approach is imbued with respect for the characteristics of each parcel and the typology of the soil.

The wines of Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot

The vineyard of Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot produces two-thirds white wine and one-third red wine. Of the nine appellations of the domain, six are classified as Premier Cru. Among these crus, we can mention Molesme which is available in white and red. In white, we also find the Rully Premier Cru Montpalais. These two appellations offer an exceptional Cuvée 24, a red Molesme and a white Montpalais, which has been aged for two years. Today, the white wines of Jean-Baptiste Ponsot are a must for Chardonnay lovers.
