THIRIET CAMILLE

Founded in 2016 in Corgoloin, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Camille Thiriet embodies an artisanal, confidential and committed vision of Burgundy viticulture. The project is the brainchild of two passionate individuals: Camille Thiriet, a Burgundian by adoption, and Matt Chittick, a Canadian oenologist, who have combined their expertise to create a domaine in their own image - free, precise, respectful and deeply human.

An artisan adventure born of passion and experience

The two met at Domaine de Bellene, where Matt was cellar master (2011-2014) and Camille sales manager. On the strength of this experience, they decided to set up their own domaine from scratch, with a clear ambition: to shine the spotlight on Burgundy's discreet appellations, which are all too often misunderstood, but bear a strong, sincere identity.

From the outset, everything is meticulously hand-crafted: bucket pumping, foot treading, ratchet pressing... A rare artisanal approach, designed to respect the raw material at every stage of vinification.

Controlled progress, true to their values

In 2021, Camille and Matt acquired their first estate vineyard: 0.80 hectares of Côte de Nuits-Villages "Le Clos Magny". The following year, they took over Domaine Gilles Jourdan, adding a further 5 hectares around Corgoloin. Domaine Camille Thiriet now extends over 6 hectares, always cultivated with strict respect for the living world and without dependence on a label - out of conviction rather than claim.

They refuse to use labels (organic, biodynamic, natural, conventional...), preferring a free, responsible and sensitive approach, based on observation, balance and precision. Some plots are worked with horses, flowers are sown between the rows, and each harvest is meticulously sorted, guaranteeing pure, precise vinification.

Discreet appellations, vinified with precision

The domaine produces a confidential but expressive range of wines from often little-known Burgundy appellations:

- Bourgogne Aligoté,
- Bourgogne Blanc,
- Bourgogne Rosay,
- Bourgogne Rouge,
- Côte de Nuits-Villages Blanc,
- Côte de Nuits-Villages Rouge.

Each cuvée is vinified on a parcel-by-parcel basis, to reveal the uniqueness of each terroir. The work is carried out by gentle infusion, with light pumping over, some punching down, and ageing that respects the fruit.

Some emblematic cuvées

-BOURGOGNE ROUGE "Les Blanches"
From a 90-year-old vineyard in Pommard, this concentrated, racy Pinot Noir flourishes on clay-limestone soil marked by very white clays. Aromas of fresh raspberry and redcurrant, and a fine structure, for a wine that is both powerful and delicate, promising good ageing potential.

-CÔTE DE NUITS-VILLAGES "La Montagne"
60-year-old plot at 280 meters altitude on the Corgoloin hillsides. An airy, subtle Pinot Noir with a fresh, digestible profile, marked by lovely natural tension. A vibrant cuvée, full of finesse.

-BOURGOGNE ALIGOTÉ "Du Jardin"
A blend of three old plots (Meursault, Corgoloin, Comblanchien), this exceptional aligoté offers a rare balance between freshness, roundness and complexity. Aged 10 months in barrel, it reveals notes of citrus and white flowers, with an elegant, persistent finish.

A singular domaine to follow closely

Domaine Camille Thiriet is establishing itself as one of the most promising names of the new generation in Burgundy, enhancing forgotten terroirs with an artisanal, rigorous and sensitive approach. All in a spirit of transparency and sincerity, for wines that tell a story, that of the land and the people who respect it.

"In the hope that the Domaine's bottles will accompany moments of conviviality, between friends and family - because that's what wine is all about."
