Château Beychevelle is a prestigious estate and red wine in the Saint-Julienappellation. This 4th Grand Cru Classé de Bordeaux takes its name and emblem from a 17th-century legend. It was once owned by the First Duke of Épernon. He was so powerful that ships passing the château had to lower their sails as a sign of respect and allegiance to the Duke. Since 1986, the château has been owned by Grands Millésimes de France.
