Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat took over Domaine Georges Noëllat in 2010. He is the great-grandson of Georges Noëllat. He succeeds his grandmother, Marie-Thérèse, who ran the estate until 2009. He represents the fifth generation of this Burgundian winegrowing family. Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat distinguishes himself by his terroir-driven approach. The particularities of each plot and vintage are respected. He creates fresh wines, whose complexity reveals itself with age. Domaine Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat is a promising estate, producing great Burgundy Pinot Noirs from exceptional terroirs.
Geographical location of Domaine Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat
Domaine Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat is located in Vosne-Romanée, in the Côte de Nuits region. It extends over some ten hectares, on terroirs in the Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin appellations. Some of the estate's vines are over a hundred years old. Each parcel benefits from a privileged terroir, with different soils, altitudes and exposures. The village of Vosne-Romanée is the birthplace of several Grands Crus.
Domaine Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat wines
Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat aims to produce wines that are as pure as possible. He intervenes very little during vinification. The wine is aged in oak barrels with 30 to 100% new wood. The vines are cultivated using sustainable methods, with no use of weedkillers.
Domaine Maxime Cheurlin Noëllat's red wines benefit from the great appellations of the Côte de Nuits. It produces Grands Crus from the Clos de Vougeot, Échezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux terroirs. The estate also produces Premiers Crus, Côtes de Nuits Villages and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Villages. The Premiers Crus include such great names as Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Feusselottes, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Aux Cras, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Chaumes, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Beaux Monts and Mersault Premier Cru Les Cras.
