Château Beau-Séjour Bécot is one of France's oldest wine producers. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages. Its name comes from General Jacques de Carles, who, after a pleasant stay here, christened it in 1787. Owned by Michel Bécot, who bought the property in 1969, it was subsequently taken over by Gérard and Dominique Bécot, Michel's sons. The Château was classified Premier Grand Cru classé B in 1996. The family continues to run the estate, which today is brimming with passion and history. The Château is renowned for the many innovations and atypical techniques introduced by brothers Gérard and Dominique Bécot when they were running the estate. Today, the Château is managed by Juliette Bécot, Gérard's daughter, who took over the reins in 2001 alongside her husband Julien Barthe. They are supported by Pierre and Caroline, Dominique's children.

Work in the vineyard is carried out with respect for tradition, preserving traditional growing techniques. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted one by one to keep only the best. The nectars are aged in barrels for long periods of 16 to 18 months.

Location of the Château

The Château Beau-Séjour Bécot vineyard is located in the heart of the St-Émilion region in Gironde. Covering 17 hectares, the vineyard benefits from limestone soils. Merlot is the dominant grape variety, accounting for 80% of production. The Château also produces wines from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
