Located in Volnay in the Côte-de-Beaune region of Burgundy, Domaine De Montille dates back to the second half of the 18th century. Today, Étienne de Montille has been at the helm of the eponymous domaine for over twenty years. He succeeded his father, Hubert de Montille, who had revived the family vineyards, reduced to less than three hectares in the middle of the last century. A fervent advocate of early bottling, Hubert helped make the estate world-famous in the 1960s. Étienne continued the work begun by his father to produce exceptional wines. He has extended the domaine, bringing it back to the Côte de Nuits as it was in the days of his ancestors…

Geographical location of Domaine De Montille

Volnay is the birthplace of Domaine De Montille, which extends over twenty hectares in the Côte de Beaune, but also in the Côte de Nuits, in Clos-Vougeot and in Vosne-Romanée near La Tâche. The soil is ploughed, and every autumn, plant composts and horse manure are added to improve its structure. Étienne harvests by hand. The proportion of whole grapes varies from year to year, depending on the cuvée. Domaine De Montille wines are renowned for their aromatic purity.

Domaine De Montille offers AOC Burgundy white wines such as Bourgogne Chardonnay, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, as well as Meursault "Saint Christophe". Nine Premier Crus and two Grand Crus round out our white wine production. These include Corton Charlemagne grand cru, Chevalier-Montrachet grand cru and Meursault premier cru les Perrières.

In red Burgundy, Domaine de Montille produces two grands crus: Corton Clos du Roi, the only red grand cru in the Côte de Beaune, and Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, from the "Dix Journaux" climat. There are also 14 premier cru red wines, including Pommard premier cru "les Pézerolles", Nuits Saint Georges premier cru "Aux Thorey" and Volnay "Les Perrières" premier cru. AOC wines such as Bourgogne rouge, Monthelie Vin Nature, Pommard "Les Cras" and Nuits Saint Georges "Aux Saints-Juliens" complete the Domaine De Montille range.
