Geographical location of Domaine Yvon Clerget
The six hectares of Domaine Yvon Clerget are located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Meursault, Pommard and Volnay. One parcel stands out: the remarkable Clos de Vougeot in the Côtes de Nuits. The domaine's wines belong to some of Burgundy's most coveted appellations, including Les Caillerets, En Champans and Les Rugiens. Uncompromising in his pursuit of quality, Thibaud Clerget sets the bar very high. From the vineyard to the cellar, everything is done to preserve the delicacy of Pinot Noir. He uses instinct as his guide, the lunar calendar as his compass, and terroir as his guiding principle. At Domaine Yvon Clerget, it's the terroirs that are bottled each vintage.
Domaine Yvon Clerget wines
Of the ten red wine appellations produced by Domaine Yvon Clerget, six are classified as Premier Cru and one as Grand Cru. The Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Grand Maupertuis needs no introduction. In Volnay, Premier Cru wines include Le Clos du Verseuil Monopole, Les Santenots, Les Caillerets and En Champans. Pommard Les Rugiens also ranks high. Meursault Les Chevalières, a regional appellation, is the only white wine in the red range.
