Location of Domaine Heinrich

With a surface area of 90 hectares, Domaine Heinrich is located in Gols, near Lake Neusiedl. This region of northern Burgenland lies close to the border between Austria and Hungary. Bordered on the west by the Leitha mountains, it marks the beginning of the great Pannonian plain. In just a few kilometers, climatic conditions and soils vary considerably. Thanks to this specificity, the estate benefits from a wide variety of microclimates.

90% of Domaine Heinrich's vineyards are planted with local grape varieties. White grapes include Roter Traminer, a cousin of Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder) and Chardonnay. Red varieties include Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Saint-Laurent. Domaine Heinrich's vines are cultivated biodynamically. The wine is aged on lees and in wooden barrels.

Domaine Heinrich produces several wines with DAC, the Austrian Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée. White wines include Chardonnay Leithaberg and Weissburgunder Leithaberg. Red wines include Blaufränkisch Leithaberg, Blaufränkisch Edelgraben and Blaufränkisch Alter Berg.

The estate offers a number of single-varietal red wines, including Pinot Noir, Saint-Laurent and Blaufränkisch. Alongside them are several blended red wines: Pannobile (Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch), Gabarinza (Zweigelt, Merlot and Blaufränkisch) and Salzberg (Merlot and Blaufränkisch).
