Location of Domaine Parcellaires De Saulx
Domaine Parcellaires De Saulx is located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. The Côte de Beaune is nestled between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte Chalonnaise, in Burgundy. The parcel-based cuvées fully express each of the domaine's terroirs. For example, the Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru terroir is composed of limestone soil with a clay surface. This Grand Cru enjoys a mid-slope location, on an east-facing hillside. The vineyards are located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. This is also the case for the Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru.
Domaine Parcellaires De Saulx wines
The 4 Grands Crus of Domaine Parcellaires De Saulx, including Le Clos de Vougeot and Corton Grand Cru Les Perrière, are red Burgundy wines. The grape variety is Pinot Noir. They are aged between 15 and 18 months in oak barrels. Of the house's 15 Permiers Crus, 9 are reds and 6 are whites.
Chardonnay is the grape variety used for Maison Parcellaires De Saulx white wines. The Saint Aubin Sur Gamay and Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot appellations are white Premiers Crus. They are aged in oak for between 12 and 15 months. They can be kept for up to 7 years. 3 of the 19 village appellations come from plots in Meursault.
