Jean-Marc Roulot's domaine is located in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyard covers some 13 hectares of vines, 85% of which are used to make the estate's white wine: Chardonnay (94%) and Aligoté (6%) grapes. The estate's red wine is made from Pinot Noir.
Domaine Roulot's white wines are mainly produced in theMeursault Premier Cru appellation, on prestigious Burgundy "climats": Les Luchets (0.6 hectares), Les Bouchères (0.4 hectares) and Les Perrières (0.8 hectares). The Chardonnay vines flourish on their limestone soils at 250 m altitude.
The Pinot Noir vines for the domaine's red wine are located in Monthélie and in the Auxey-Duresses valley, between Volnay and Meursault. The soils of these terroirs consist mainly of limestone.
Domaine Roulot produces white Burgundy wines in the Meursault Premier Cru appellation: Les Charmes, Le Porusot, Les Perrières and Les Bouchères. It also produces the Monthélie Premier Cru cuvée Les Champs Fulliot white wine. Fans also appreciate Bourgogne Aligoté, Meursault Village cuvée Tessons Clos de Mon Plaisir and cuvée Les Luchets. As for Domaine Roulot's great red Burgundy, it's theAuxey-Duresses Premier Cru appellation. Finally, the Monthélie appellation completes the range of Domaine Roulot red wines.
