Domaine Tenuta Dell Ornellaia is located in Tuscany, Italy. It was founded in 1981 by Marquis Lodovico Antinori. It is now owned by Marquis Ferdinando Frescobaldi. The vineyards of Domaine Tenuta dell Ornellaia are located at the foot of the Tuscan hills in Italy's Bolgheri region. The 91 hectares of vines benefit from the proximity of the Mediterranean coast, under the protection of the hills. The soils are rich in clay, sand and granite. Each wine from Domaine Tenuta Dell Ornellaia expresses this terroir, producing refined, elegant red wines.

Domaine Tenuta Dell Ornellaia wines

Most of the wine produced on the estate comes from Bordeaux grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot). The estate's wines include some of the greatest vintages: Masseto, Ornellaia, Le Serre Nuove dell Ornellaia and Le Volte dell Ornellaia. The Masseto wine produced by the estate is one of the finest in Tuscany and Italy, made from 100% Merlot grapes. Ornellaia is the estate's flagship wine. Serre Nuove dell Ornellaia is the second wine of Domaine Tenuta dell Ornellaia. Volte dell Ornellaia is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. In red, Ornellaia is a complex, smooth and structured wine. It benefits from the DOC Bolgheri appellation. Ornellaia white is a Toscana IGT Bianco appellation wine. The grape variety used is Sauvignon.
