DOMINUS ESTATE

Dominus Estate was founded by Christian Moueix in 1981 in Yountville, USA. When Christian Moueix first visited these lands, he sensed the potential of this Californian terroir. The estate is located on the famous Napanook vineyard. The first vines at Dominus Estate were planted in 1838, at the beginning of the development of Nappa Valley. Christian Moueix, son of Jean-Pierre Moueix, brings 50 years of experience in Bordeaux-area viticulture. He managed Château Pétrus and Château Bélair-Monange in Saint-Émilion. Location of Dominus Estate

Dominus Estate is located in a natural amphitheater at the foot of the Mayacamas mountains in western Napa Valley. The estate is naturally irrigated by underground springs. The site is very gently sloping, with gravel and clay soils. The climate is temperate, with winds from the bay bringing coolness to the Napa Valley vines. Climatic conditions are ideal for growing grapes.

Dominus Estate wines

At Dominus Estate, the grapes are harvested by hand at perfect ripeness. The grapes are rigorously selected. The estate's wine has been certified organic since 2021. The grape varieties used are : Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Dominus Estate produces threeYountville Napa Valley appellation wines: Dominus, Napanook and Othello. The estate's wines are balanced and complex, with good ageing potential. Napanook is a Napa Valley red wine with a distinct personality. Dominus is the estate's flagship red wine.
