Location of Domaine Rivetto
Domaine Rivetto is located in Piedmont's Barolo region, between the villages of Sinio and Serralunga d'Alba. The soils on the Lirano hill are made up of sand and clay. The vineyards, located at an altitude of 400 meters, benefit from a special microclimate, with plenty of sunshine and favorable winds. The Briccolina vineyards are located on clay-limestone soils. The air is dry and better ventilated than other vineyards in the Barolo appellation. The red grape varieties grown here are Nebbiolo and Barbera. Nascetta, an Italian white grape, is also grown.
Domaine Rivetto wines
Enrico Rivetto's estate produces several Barolo DOCG wines, as well as Barbaresco DOCG, Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC and Langhe Nebbiolo DOC. The estate's red and white wines respect the identity of the terroir and local grape varieties. The vines are tended, the grapes harvested and selected entirely by hand. Some cuvées undergo very long macerations in steel vats. Terracotta containers are sometimes used. Domaine Rivetto produces solid, well-balanced Barolo wines of the highest quality.
