CHANDON DE BRIAILLES

This Burgundy wine estate has belonged to the same family since 1834. It was once owned by the Comtesse Chandon de Briailles, who was linked to the Moët et Chandon Champagne House. Today, her descendants, Claude and François de Nicolay, are at the head of this prestigious vineyard. The estate's vines are cultivated biodynamically (Ecocert and Demeter certifications). Domaine Chandon de Briailles is located in the commune of Savigny-lès-Beaune. The winemakers have 13.7 hectares of vines on the Côte de Beaune. The parcels are spread over Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. On this Burgundy terroir, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines benefit from clay-limestone soil. The lands of Domaine Chandon de Briailles include several climats classified as AOC Grand Cru, such as Corton-Charlemagne, Corton-Bressandes and Corton-Maréchaudes.

Bottles from Domaine Chandon de Briailles are sold around the world and offered by the finest restaurants. According to Claude and François, biodynamic viticulture allows the full expression of the Burgundy vintage and terroir. The domaine produces wines for laying down that are fresh on the palate, generous and complex. The wine selection includes Pinot Noir Grands Crus such as Corton (Bressandes, Clos du Roi and Maréchaudes). The vineyard also supplies prestigious white wines with the Grands Crus Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. The Pernand-Vergelesses appellation is represented by three Premiers Crus, including white and red Île de Vergelesses. Savigny-lès-Beaune boasts a Village appellation and two Premiers Crus, including Les Lavières.
