LEFLAIVE DOMAINE

Since 2015, Brice de La Morandière has been managing Domaine Leflaive in keeping with the family philosophy in Puligny-Montrachet in the Burgundy region. He represents the fourth generation at the helm for over a hundred years.

Jo and Vincent, two of founder Joseph Leflaive's sons, passionately developed Domaine Leflaive between 1953 and 1993. They have succeeded in elevating their expression of Côte de Beaune Chardonnay to one of the most renowned. The Leflaive family's vines gradually acquired an international reputation, notably with the production of Grands Crus.

In 1994, Anne Claude Leflaive took over. Over the next 20 years, the estate's worldwide reputation grew. Innovation was on the agenda with biodynamic viticulture, of which Anne Claude was a bold and committed pioneer in the Burgundy region. In 2014, she won the Winemakers' Winemaker Award. Her death in 2015 at the age of 59 leaves the world of Burgundy winegrowing in mourning.

Location of Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive is mainly located in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet in the Côte d'Or department. The vines thrive in these brown limestone soils. They benefit from a temperate to continental climate. Production is exclusively of white Burgundy wines made from Chardonnay grapes. Since 2004, Domaine Leflaive has also acquired several parcels in the Mâconnais region, in Verzé, Solutré, Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran. The vines are cultivated with respect for biodynamic viticulture and terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine undergoes a long, natural fermentation in oak barrels.

Domaine Leflaive wines

The estate also produces Premier Cru wines such as Puligny-Montrachet "Les Pucelles", "Les Folatières" and "les Combettes". A Puligny-Montrachet Village and a white Burgundy, not to mention wines from the Mâcon region, are also on the domaine's wine list.
