Created during the 18th century, the Domaine Les Bruyères is the story of a family heritage that spans 5 generations. Since 2000, David Reynaud has been at the head of the estate.

Geographical location of the Domaine Les Bruyères

Located in the Drôme and more precisely in the Beaumont-Monteux region, the Domaine Les Bruyères currently covers 27 hectares of vines spread over 2 sites: a large part located in Crozes-Hermitage and in IGP Collines Rhodaniennes and the other in Cornas and Saint-Joseph. The parcels of the domain are mainly on clay-limestone soil, particularly pleasant for Syrah. David Reynaud is concerned with environmentally friendly viticultural practices: since 2003, he has been certified by ECOCERT and in 2005, he obtained the BIODYVIN certification. The grapes are systematically harvested by hand. In addition, for the treatment of the vines, the winemaker prefers the use of homeopathic-based plant preparations. In the same spirit, David Reynaud prefers to do all other work by hand, whether it be disbudding, lifting, removing the internodes, harvesting, sorting on the table...

The wines of Domaine Les Bruyères

At Domaine Les Bruyères, Syrah is the king, representing 87% of the vineyard. The remaining 13% are divided between 7 grape varieties: Merlot and Persan for the red wines, Viognier, Mondeuse Blanche, Roussanne and Marsanne for the white wines and Grenache for the rosé wines. As for the vinification, the same philosophy applies as for the vines, since the cellar is underground and David Reynaud favors natural materials and the use of gravity to avoid abrupt steps for the grapes. In particular, he uses egg-shaped tanks that create what is called "Brownian" movement allowing the lees fines to remain in suspension and bring freshness to the wines.
