Geographical location of the Domaine Arlaud

With a total surface of 15 hectares, the heart of the Domaine Arlaud is located in Morey-Saint-Denis. In this terroir of the Côte des Nuits, the Pinot Noir vines benefit from a limestone soil, exposed to the east. The commune of Morey-Saint-Denis is also home to the winery and cellar of the domain. The domain also owns plots of Pinot Noir in Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. Finally, the Arlaud house exploits parcels of Chardonnay in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits terroir.

The wines of Domaine Arlaud

The vines of the domain are cultivated in biodynamic way. Each plot of Grand Cru or Premier Cru is ploughed by horse. The grapes are left to macerate without being crushed. The natural fermentation lasts about twenty days. During the pressing, press wine and free-run wine are separated. The red wines are bottled without fining or filtration.

Domaine Arlaud produces four red wines classified as Grands Crus of Burgundy. Three of them come from vineyards located in Morey-Saint-Denis. These are the Grands Crus Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis and Bonnes-Mares. The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from Gevrey-Chambertin. Five of the estate's Premiers Crus are in the Morey-Saint-Denis appellation. The three others are in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation.

In the Village appellation, Arlaud offers Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. In white wines, the domain produces Burgundy Aligoté and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. In Burgundy red wines, the domain proposes its Roncevie cuvée, as well as Burgundy Passetoutgrain.
