CHÂTEAU LA CONSEILLANTE

Château La Conseillante has belonged to the Nicolas family since 1871. Since 2010, Bertrand, Jean-Valmy and Henri Nicolas have taken over the reins of the estate. This Pomerol appellation red wine is located east of Bordeaux in Gironde. The legacy left by Louis Nicolas is very much alive. Harvesting is done by hand, and the best bunches of grapes are selected on four sorting tables. Château La Conseillante produces exceptional vintages thanks to the advice of oenologist Michel Rolland

Location of Château La Conseillante

The Château is located on the Pomerol plateau in Gironde. The La Conseillante estate lies on the right bank of the Dordogne River. The 12-hectare vineyard is planted on clay soils to the northeast and gravel to the southwest. Parcels to the north are planted with Merlot and those to the south with Cabernet Franc. The vines benefit from a temperate oceanic climate with very rare frosts.

Château wines

The Château produces red Pomerol appellation wines, made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This red wine is nicknamed the "Burgundy of Bordeaux" for its finesse, distinctive violet aroma and hints of truffle. Château La Conseillante 2016 is aged in barrels, 70% of which are new. This wine, with its floral and black fruit notes, offers fine balance and unrivalled salinity, accompanied by a savory finish.
