Christian and Isabelle Clerget are at the head of the family estate in Vougeot, in the heart of Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. They are the fourth generation of the family to work on this estate. They are committed to producing quality wine with respect to the culture of the vine. The Domaine Christian Clerget works its wines with an ancestral know-how associated with an agriculture which limits the treatments to the strict necessary.

Geographical location of Domaine Christian Clerget

Domaine Christian Clerget covers 6 hectares, around the winery in Vougeot, as well as in the communes of Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis, Flagey-Échezeaux and Vosne-Romanée. The vineyards are planted almost exclusively with Pinot Noir. These famous terroirs of the Côte de Nuits, associated with a careful and meticulous work of the vine, contribute to the elaboration of 8 cuvées of beautiful quality. Christian and Isabelle Clerget practice manual harvesting with 100% destemming. Only the best grapes are kept after sorting on the table. The maturing process lasts 18 to 20 months and results in the production of well-balanced wines with a deep mouthfeel.

The wines of Domaine Christian Clerget

This small estate in Côte de Nuits produces many red Burgundy appellations including one Grand Cru and two Premiers Crus. The Échezeaux Grand Cru with its melted tannins comes from the climat en Orveaux, above Clos de Vougeot. The Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Charmes is a great classic Burgundy wine. The Vougeot Premier Cru Les Petits Vougeots surprises with its delicate tannins.

The other wines of Domaine Christian Clerget complete the range with Morey-Saint-Denis, Vosne Romanée Les Violettes, Chambolle-Musigny and Burgundy Pinot Noir. The estate also produces a rare white wine, Morey-Saint-Denis Les Crais, made from 90% Chardonnay, combined with 5% Pinot Blanc and 5% Pinot Meunier.
