ARLOT

Domaine de l'Arlot was born from the work of a succession of winegrowers attached to their terroir. At the end of the 18th century, Jean-Charles Viénot built the 4 km wall surrounding the Arlot parcel. Now known as Le Clos de L'Arlot, these vines produce a unique, monopoly Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru.
The estate has expanded, notably with the purchase of Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges, also a monopoly wine. AXA Millésimes, owner since 1987, buys two prestigious parcels in Vosne-Romanée. Domaine de l'Arlot now covers 14.9 hectares of historic vineyards in Burgundy.

Geographical location of Domaine de l'Arlot

Domaine de l'Arlot is located in Prémeaux-Prissey on the Côte de Nuits. This commune is the second terroir of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. These Burgundy villages belong to the Côte d'Or, formed by the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. They follow Gevrey-Chambertin to the south.

The vines benefit from a temperate, continental climate. They flourish on loam soils. An easterly exposure brings each terroir to maturity. The vines have been cultivated biodynamically since 2003. The estate's wines have been certified organic since 2014.

Domaine de l'Arlot wines

Domaine de l'Arlot produces mainly red wines from Pinot Noir grapes. The premier crus of Nuits-Saint-Georges represent the excellence of these Burgundy wines: Le Clos de l'Arlot Monopole, the cuvée Les Petits Plets and the cuvée du Mont des Oiseaux.

In red wine, Burgundy Hautes-Côtes de Nuits and Côtes de Nuits Villages complete the domaine's wine treasure trove. Further north, wine lovers will appreciate Romanée Saint Vivant Grand Cru and Les Suchots Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru.

White wine made from Chardonnay accounts for 2.7 hectares of the total cultivated area. In Nuits-Saint-Georges, the cuvées La Gerbotte and Le Clos de l'Arlot Monopole Premier Cru are worthy ambassadors.
