The very young Domaine Joseph Colin in Saint-Aubin dates only from 2016. However, Joseph Colin is not at his first try, because it is one of the children of Marc Colin. In 1993, Joseph joined the family estate at the age of 19. He will be able to learn all the subtleties of the world of wine. It is rare to find a new nugget in Côte-d'Or, yet it is the case of Joseph Colin, who has not been slow to make a name for himself. Here he goes to write his own history of Burgundy wines. In 2016, with 1,800 bottles, the first vintage was confidential, like a trial run. It is in 2017 that the adventure really begins.

Geographical location of the Domaine Joseph Colin

The six hectares of vines of the Joseph Colin Estate are spread over the communes of Saint-Aubin, Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. There are remarkable terroirs such as En Remilly, Les Chenevottes or En Caillerets. The vineyard, where the majority of Chardonnay reigns, is worked largely inspired by biodynamics. Joseph Colin lets nature express itself as much as possible, even in the cellar where he intervenes as little as possible.

The wines of the Domaine Joseph Colin

It is not less than 19 vintages, most of which are white wines, that the Joseph Colin Estate produces. There are two appellations classified as Grand Cru and eleven as Premier Cru. On the first step, we find the Bâtard Montrachet and the Chevalier Montrachet, both in Grand Cru. In Premier Cru, we can mention En Caillerets or Vide Bourse in Chassagne-Montrachet. Saint-Aubin offers us En Remilly, Le Sentier du Clou or Le Clos du Meix. In Puligny-Montrachet, we find La Garenne. Finally, the Compendium cuvée is a blend of eight parcels from the Saint-Aubin terroirs. Without any doubt a domain to follow closely.
