SAINTE-MADELEINE

Domaine Sainte-Madeleine in Burgundy is a young domaine created in 2020 in the Grand Auxerrois region. It's the culmination of a project led by Alexandre and Blandine Le Corguillé, two passionate agronomists and oenologists. Alexandre ran Château Les Mesclances in La Crau, Var. In Vézelay, the two young winemakers aim to produce a wine that reflects their vision of Burgundy wines. Organic farming, manual harvesting and natural winemaking: the approach is designed to preserve the integrity of the grapes and reveal their uniqueness.

Location of Domaine Sainte-Madeleine in Burgundy

Domaine Sainte-Madeleine is located in Tharoiseau near Vézelay, at the foot of the famous hill and its protective basilica. The estate extends over a south-east-facing slope. To create their vineyard, Alexandre and Blandine replanted and bought vines. Domaine Sainte-Madeleine in Burgundy now covers four hectares of plots near Tharoiseau: Côte de Chauffour, Les Saulniers, Queuson, Les Bouriats, Le Clos and Sous les Roches.

The vineyard is run according to the principles of organic farming. The winemakers draw on their training as agronomists to perfect the selection of Chardonnay plants suited to the vineyard's terroirs.

Domaine Sainte-Madeleine wines in Burgundy

Domaine Sainte-Madeleine produces three Grands Vins de Bourgogne in the Vézelay appellation, two of which are cuvées parcellaires: Le Clos and Les Saulniers. AOP Vézelay, still a discreet name in Burgundy, is slowly making its way among the Chablis and other famous white wines of the Auxerrois region. The Vézelay vineyard is gradually expanding thanks to the planting of new vines.

Alexandre and Blandine delight lovers of natural wines with two white wines in the Burgundy appellation: the parcel-based Le Clos and La Côte de Chauffour. Domaine Sainte-Madeleine in Burgundy pays tribute to wine and the work of the winemaker.
