PERNOT ALVINA

In 2018, Alvina Pernot, granddaughter of Paul Pernot, founder of the eponymous domaine, created Domaine Alvina Pernot with her husband and sold her first vintage. Located in Puligny-Montrachet, in Burgundy's southern Côte d'Or region, the domaine produces exceptional white wines from Chardonnay. Pinot Noir is the estate's only red wine.

Geographical location of Domaine Alvina Pernot

The domaine owns two parcels in Puligny-Montrachet. The first was acquired in 2018, the second in 2020. Both Domaine Alvina Pernot vineyards face upwards, benefiting from maximum freshness.

Most of the estate's other wines come fromgrapes purchased from Domaine Paul Pernot. The plots, particularly in the communes of Puligny and Meursault, are located on predominantly limestone soils. These white wines offer great minerality on the palate. Pinot Noir, Burgundy's traditional red wine grape variety, is planted in the commune of Santenay. The plot is located on the upper slopes and faces south.

Domaine Alvina Pernot wines

Domaine Alvina Pernot produces top-of-the-range white wines. The producer couple vinify the Puligny-Montrachet appellation from their own vines. They also produce Meursault Premier Cru, from a young vineyard planted in 2004. The Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru comes from vineyards between 50 and 65 years old. Other white Burgundy wines produced by the domaine include Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Batard-Monrachet Grand Cru and Saint Romain. The estate's only red wine is a Santenay.

Alvina Pernot creates wines that stand out from those of her family. She pays particular attention to tension and freshness. The grapes are hand-picked and collected in small wooden crates. The fruit is pressed vertically. Both methods reduce oxidation and produce purer juice .
