Domaine François Lamarche belongs to the prestigious Vosne-Romanée terroir in northern Burgundy. Founded in the early 20th century, the estate has remained in the Lamarche family to this day. From the 2019 vintage onwards, the labels will bear the name of the current owner, Nicole Lamarche. The estate's modest size does not prevent it from producing some of Burgundy's finest red wines. A particular highlight is the Grand Cru Monopole La Grande Rue.

Geographical location of Domaine François Lamarche

With a surface area of 11 hectares, Domaine François Lamarche is centered on Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The estate is planted mainly with Pinot Noir grapes. The Grands Crus plots are located on limestone and ferruginous soil. The Premiers Crus and Village appellation plots benefit from predominantly clay-limestone soils. The domaine also owns parcels in Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Flagey-Échezeaux.

Domaine François Lamarche wines

The vines of Domaine François Lamarche are organically grown. Hand-harvested, the grapes are sorted to retain only the best fruit. Depending on the cuvée, it may be partially destemmed. Between 30% and 50% of the wine is aged in new barrels, depending on the vintage and the wine. The wine is bottled after 14 to 20 months of ageing.

Domaine François Lamarche produces mainly red wines, including four Grands Crus de Bourgogne. These are the Grands Crus Clos de Vougeot, Échezeaux, Grands-Échezeaux, accompanied by the Grand Cru Monopole La Grande Rue.

Alongside these prestigious red wines, Domaine François Lamarche produces five Premier Cru wines. In Vosne-Romanée, these are the Premiers Crus La Croix Rameaux, Les Malconsorts, Les Chaumes and Les Suchots. They are joined by a Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Cras. The domaine rounds out its cellar with wines from the Vosne-Romanée appellation, a Bourgogne Passetoutgrain and a Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits. White wines include Bourgogne Aligoté.
