POL-ROGER

The Roger family settled in Aÿ, a village at the foot of the famous Montagne de Reims, renowned for its superb vineyards. Pol Roger was just 18 when he made his first wine sale in 1849. Two years later, the family moved to Epernay, where the business flourished.

When Pol Roger died of pneumonia in 1899, his two sons Maurice and Georges were determined and ready to take over! They also decided to change their family name to "Pol-Roger" in homage to their father. The two brothers complemented each other, one handling public relations and the other champagne production. As a result, the House has earned one of the most flattering reputations in the inner circle of the great Champagne Houses. It's not for nothing that Pol-Roger is the Champagne of choice for the British Royal Family and Winston Churchill!
