CHAVY JEAN-LOUIS

Between the Chavy family and Puligny-Montrachet, the love of Burgundy wine has been shared for over 200 years. In 2005, Gérard Chavy retired and divided the estate between his two sons. Thus was born Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy, with its magnificent Puligny-Montrachet Premiers Crus climats. Heir to a long family tradition, Jean-Louis Chavy continues to respect and enhance the terroir. His wines are faithful to their appellation, and of consistent quality. They have their place in our selection of great Burgundy wines.

Geographical location of Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy

Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy's 6.5 hectares of vines are planted exclusively with Chardonnay. The vineyards are located in and around Puligny-Montrachet. The estate's appellations are each more prestigious than the last. Les Folatières, Les Perrières and Les Champs Gain are just a few examples. The grapes in the vineyard are harvested by hand, and the wine is aged in barrels, some of which are renewed each year. Jean-Louis Chavy's philosophy is to preserve the purity of fruit for pure, deep wines.

Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy wines

Jean-Louis Chavy combines Burgundy tradition with a touch of modernity. The Domaine Chavy Jean-Louis range consists exclusively of white wines, with 4 cuvées classified as Premier Cru. These are Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières, Les Champs Gain, Les Perrières and Les Clavoillons. For completeness, we must add a Puligny-Montrachet village appellation cuvée. Last but not least, a Bourgogne Blanc rounds off this range, to be discovered, or rediscovered, without delay.
