GOLDEN PUSH

The Maison de la Pousse d'Or has a fascinating winegrowing history! Established on the slopes of Volnay between Pommard and Meursault, this estate was founded in 1954, but its origins date back to the time of the Dukes of Burgundy. The Domaine's original foundations date back to the 16th century, and evolved under the reign of Louis XIV.

Let's talk royalty, since the estate owns a vineyard called " Bousse d'Or ", which belonged to the King of France until the early 17th century. This parcel is located in front of the estate. Several families then succeeded one another in running the estate. The Ferté family acquired the estate in 1964 at an auction of the Bousse d'Or plot. Patrick Landanger has owned the estate since 1997, and was joined by his son Benoît Landanger in 2013. Together, they work closely on the vinification of the wines. Ambition, quality and respect for terroirs are the Maison's watchwords. In 2018, Patrick gave way to Benoît, who decided to travel the world to introduce people to the Great Wines of Burgundy. Benoît works biodynamically with rigor, his philosophy focuses on respecting the balance of the two grape varieties he vinifies: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wines are aged in oak barrels for up to 18 months, giving them great ageing potential!

Location of the estate

The estate comprises 17 hectares of vines spread over the terroirs of Volnay, Corton, Pommard, Chambolle-Musigny, Puligny-Montrachet, Morey-Saint-Denis and Santenay. Five Grands Crus and 11 Premiers Crus, including 3 monopoles, are produced on the estate. This is an ideal location for the House, which finds its vineyards in the heart of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Climatic conditions are temperate, a positive influence on the terroirs occupied by the estate. The orientation of the vines favors early morning sunshine. A high altitude, and a level of rainfall most often conducive to good vine growth in early summer. The Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits tend to benefit from summer heat, a perfect condition for grapes to soak up the sun!

Domaine de la Pousse wines

Domaine de la Pousse d'Or wines have great ageing potential. In each of our cuvées, we find perfect harmony between the winemaker and his terroirs. All our wines express a silky mouthfeel and incomparable delicacy.

Among the Premiers Crus: Pommard Premier Cru les Jarollières combines notes of cherry and blackcurrant with density and firm tannins on the palate. Santenay Premier Cru Clos de Tavannes comes from one of the House's oldest vines. Beautiful notes of blackberry and red plum develop to release a full, very pleasant finish.
