CHAMPAGNEUX NICOLAS

Nicolas Champagneux passionately took over the family business of Domaine Champagneux in 2014. Located in the Rhône Valley, the estate produces mainly Côtes-Du-Rhône red wine under the appellation of Vignoble de la Côte Rôtie. Nicolas Champagneux is a fourth-generation winegrower. He continues the work in the vines begun by his grandfather and great-grandfather. Until recently, production was sold only as fresh grapes. He was the first to bottle the estate's wine. The domaine's first vintage was released in 2015. Domaine Nicolas Champagneux wine is now an essential reference in the Rhône Valley.

Located in the Rhône Valley, the estate produces mainly red wines under the Côte Rotie appellation. The Côte Rôtie vineyard extends over three communes: Saint-Cyr-Sur-Rhône, Tupin-Semons and Ampuis. Three kilometers long, the vineyard is located on the slopes of the right bank of the river. The south-east-facing vines benefit from generous summer sun exposure. The vineyards of Domaine Nicolas Champagneux are located in the northern part of the Côte Rôtie appellation , on micaschist soils.

Domaine Nicolas Champagneux produces its wines under two appellations: AOP Côte Rôtie and IGP Collines Rhodaniennes. Their Côte Rôtie wines are renowned for their elegance and finesse. The schist soils give tannin and power on the palate, with notes of black fruit. Their color is garnet-red, almost black. Syrah IGP Collines Rhodaniennes is a gourmet wine combining red and black fruit notes on the palate. The manager recently completed his range with a Viognier IGP Collines Rhodaniennes. Harvested from very young vines, it brings freshness to the palate with fruity aromas.
