RAVENEAU

François Raveneau and Andrée Dauvissat founded Domaine François Raveneau in 1948. The original vineyard was enlarged by the purchase of parcels in the Chablis Grand Cru and Chablis Premier Cru appellations in the 1970s. Bernard and Jean-Marie, sons of François and Andrée, accompanied the accelerated development of the estate. Today, their children Isabelle and Maxime Raveneau manage the vineyard. Domaine François Raveneau has become one of the best-known Burgundy estates, sought after in France and around the world. It no longer accepts new customers.

Geographical location of Domaine François Raveneau

Domaine François Raveneau has its roots in Chablis, between Auxerre and Tonnerre. The parcels of the family estate's renowned crus stretch around Chablis over 3 Grand Cru climats and 6 Premier Cru climats. The Grand Cru vines thrive on sun-exposed limestone soils. The Premier Cru parcels surround the village of Chablis on either side of the river Serein.

The Raveneau family's vineyards cover 10 hectares of Chardonnay vines, with an average age of 40 years. They are cultivated using sustainable methods, with the aim of preserving their natural balance. Attention to detail and a job well done: these values have enabled the vineyard to produce unrivalled white Burgundy wines.

Cuvées Blanchot, Les Clos and Valmur represent the three Chablis Grand Cru appellations of Domaine François Raveneau. The Chablis Premier Cru appellation includes Butteaux, Montée du Tonnerre, Vaillons, Montmains, Forêt and Chapelot. These climates have built the reputation of Chablis. The domaine's range of white wines also includes a Chablis Village cuvée and a Petit Chablis c uvée. Each Domaine François Raveneau vintage is reserved for a privileged list of customers who love exceptional Chablis.
