ROSSIGNOL NICOLAS

Domaine Nicolas Rossignol was founded in 1997 and has its roots in the Côte de Beaune. Nicolas represents the fifth generation of winemakers from Volnay, Burgundy. In 2005, he acquired a further 2.5 hectares, after which his Domaine merged with that of Domaine Rossignol-Jeanniard, in which he had previously been involved. The vineyard covers almost 17 hectares. Now under integrated viticulture, it is also inspired by the principles of biodynamic viticulture, in particular the lunar influence. Domaine Nicolas Rossignol produces and bottles exclusively red wine. Only Pinot Noir is used. The grapes are harvested by hand, and no chemical weedkillers are used.

Location of the estate

In 1997, Nicolas Rossignol created his own 3-hectare estate in the communes of Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses.

The Pommard parcels are planted on all the hillsides. The Domaine thus offers an exhaustive vision of this appellation through its different crus. The parcels in Volnay, aged between 30 and 85 years, are located at the bottom and middle of the hillside. The plots in Pernand-Vergelesses are mid-slope. A vineyard covering clay-limestone soils rich in micronutrients.

Estate wines

Nicolas Rossignol vinifies from Pinot Noir, Burgundy's flagship grape variety. The Domaine produces wines from prestigious appellations, from the region's best climats. Among his wines, Nicolas takes us through Volnay Premier Cru les Santenots, Savigny-Les Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Pommard, which have undeniably forged the Domaine's reputation. Each wine offers delicate tannins and intense fruit notes.
