In 1981, Pierre Gaillard bought a Saint-Joseph Clos de Cuminaille appellation. Since 2001, his wife has worked with him on their vineyards. This Rhône Valley wine enthusiast has acquired several vineyards to form Domaine Pierre Gaillard.

Pierre Gaillard works with the greatest respect for vines and terroir. He practises integrated viticulture and harvests only by hand, to preserve the grapes. His estate produces highly prized red and white wines. They are a benchmark for Rhône Valley wine lovers.

Location of Domaine Pierre Gaillard

Domaine Pierre Gaillard is located in Malleval. The vineyard is located on slopes that slope down to the Rhône. Its vineyards cover 25 hectares, from Côte-Rôtie to Cornas. The soils of the Côte-Rôtie appellation are composed of decomposing schist.

For the Saint-Joseph, Condrieu and Côtes-du-Rhône appellations, the soils are made of weathered granite. The climate is very warm, with very few frosts. Harvesting takes place late, with very ripe grapes. Thanks to this exceptional environment, Domaine Pierre Gaillard wines are unique and of remarkable quality.

Domaine Pierre Gaillard wines

Domaine Pierre Gaillard produces red and white wines from several protected appellations in the Rhône Valley. Its Saint-Joseph, Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie and other appellations should be cellared for several years before tasting. Its Rhône Valley red wines are highly sought-after. These are made from Syrah grapes.

Only AOP Condrieu is made with Viognier. Domaine Pierre Gaillard's white wines are made with Viognier and Roussanne. Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and Côtes-du-Rhône develop fruity aromas, freshness and minerality.
