Geographical location of the Forjas del Salnés estate

The Forjas del Salnés estate is located north of Pontevedra, in Galicia. It extends over three hectares of vines, located at an altitude of less than 100 meters. The estate comprises seven vineyards, some with red grape varieties and others with white. The climate in this part of the country is temperate. It is influenced by the Atlantic coast. In the Rías Baixas region, humidity is exceptionally high and protects the vines. This specificity enables the Forjas del Salnés estate to work with very old vines.

Wines of the Forjas del Salnés estate

Forjas del Salnés produces wine from ancient native red grape varieties. These include caíño, espadeiro and loureiro tinto. The white variety albariño is also widely represented. The estate produces both single-varietal and blended wines. The wines are aged in oak barrels or stainless steel vats. Vinification is traditional, with minimal intervention. Domaine Forjas del Salnés wines reflect Galicia's distinctive terroir of great minerality.
