Domaine Jean-Paul et Benoît Droin has existed for four centuries on the Chablis terroir in Burgundy. Jean-Paul began working on the estate in 1965. Over the years, he expanded the Domaine, retiring in 2014. In turn, Benoît joined the Domaine in 1999, representing the 13th generation of winegrowers. Together, they have become the driving force behind the Domaine's development. The wine produced by Benoît Droin has a great minerality, specific to the Chablis terroir. Each bottle of white wine produced on the estate, from the Village appellation to the Grand Cru, has its own personality. Benoît Droin is committed to sublimating these nuances, to create a wine rich in the 16 climats of Chablis.

The estate's geographical location

Domaine Jean-Paul et Benoît Droin extends over 26 hectares around the village of Chablis in Burgundy. The vineyards are located on either side of the Serein river, which flows through the village of Chablis. They give rise to Premier Cru wines from the right and left banks. The Grands Crus are all located on the right bank. All white wines are made from Chardonnay.

Estate wines

Jean-Paul and Benoît Droin's white wines have 4 levels of appellation: Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Chablis and Petit Chablis. Among the Chablis Grands Crus is Vaudésir, one of the great white wines of Burgundy. Whatever the vintage, it is a wine for laying down. Right-bank Chablis Premiers Crus such as Mont de Milieu and Montée de Tonnerre face left-bank Chablis Premiers Crus such as Les Montmains and Les Vaillons. The Domaine's wines are characterized by a fresh, mineral nose and a subtle balance between finesse and power on the palate.
