In 2004, Oronce de Beler moved to Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy to create Maison Romane. Oronce de Beler is passionate about Pinot Noir. He bought grapes in 2005 to vinify his first cuvées. In 2017, he moved to Nuits-Saint-Georges and invested in a larger cellar.

Oronce de Beler practices biodynamic viticulture with great respect for the vines and the terroir. Harvesting is done entirely by hand to select whole bunches. Thanks to Oronce de Beler's meticulous work, Maison Romane produces top-quality red Burgundy wine.

Location of Maison Romane

Maison Romane is located in the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy. Oronce de Beler buys its grapes from winemakers in the Côte de Nuits and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits regions. The vines are planted on a soil composed of clay and limestone. The vineyard covers five hectares, four of which are planted with Pinot Noir.

The temperate climate is favorable to the vineyards. The mild autumn with few frosts means that the grapes can be harvested late. Oronce de Beler works closely with vineyard owners in theMarsannay, Vosne-Romanée, Fixin, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertinappellations.

The wines of Maison Romane

Maison Romane produces mainly red Burgundy wines, as well as two white wines. The red wines are made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes. These are exceptional, high-quality cuvées. They are ruby-red in color, with aromas of ripe red fruit.

The white wines are made exclusively from Chardonnay. These two white wines from Côte de Nuits and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits offer freshness and minerality. Maison Romane produces red and white Burgundy wines in small quantities to ensure quality.
