The history of Château Clerc Milon takes place in the 18th century, precisely in 1789. Originally the property of the seigneury of Lafite, it was sold as national heritage during the Revolution, when the Clerc family inherited it, and subsequently christened it Clerc Milon. Milon refers to the region where the Château is located. The Château soon became one of Bordeaux's finest wines, acquiring worldwide renown. Today, it is run by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, grandson of Philippine de Rothschild.

Location of Château Clerc Milon

Today, the château covers 41 hectares of vines in the Pauillac appellation. The climate is particularly favorable thanks to its proximity to a river. The grapes are harvested by hand, and only those that have reached full ripeness are picked. They are then taken to the sorting area, where they are pressed. The must is transferred to vats, before being transferred to barrels for 16-18 months of ageing to complete the winemaking process.

The wines of Château Clerc Milon

Five grape varieties make up the vineyard: Cabernet Sauvignon - the main grape variety with over 50% of the vineyard - Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a little Petit Verdot and Carmenère.
