Domaine Koyle is the new estate of the Undurraga family. This family has been part of the Chilean wine tradition for six generations. As early as 1885, Francisco Undurraga Vicuña imported grape varieties from France and Germany. He then founded the family's historic estate, Viña Undurraga. This estate was sold in 2006. Alfonso Undurraga began looking for land to create a new estate. The family moved away from the fertile plains of Santiago. They chose Los Lingues to form Viña Koyle. Today, the Koyle estate is run by the family's four siblings. Their aim is to create Chilean wines with balance.

Geographical location of Domaine Koyle

Domaine Koyle (or Viña Koyle) is located in Los Lingues, an hour south of Santiago. The vineyards are all located in Chile's northern Colchagua Valley. The region's climate is ideal: plenty of sunshine, cool winds and mineral soil of volcanic origin. Domaine Koyle works with many grape varieties, both red and white. The wines are made from Syrah, Cinsault, Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Merlot, and other varieties to a lesser extent. Carmenère, a cross between Gros Cabernet and Cabernet Franc, is the most common grape variety grown in this region of Chile. On this terroir with its distinct identity, the rocky soil lends minerality to Domaine Koyle wines.

Domaine Koyle wines

Domaine Koyle is farmed biodynamically. The grapes are harvested by hand. Each cuvée of the estate carries the notes and aromas of its terroir. The wine is elegant and well-balanced. Viña Koyle produces mainly red wine, but also white and rosé. Domaine Koyle wines are of the highest quality and fully reflect their region of origin.
