Italy's historic Barolo DOCG winery, Domaine Fratelli Alessandria 's roots go back to the early 19th century. The estate was awarded two gold medals at the agricultural competition organized by King Carlo Alberto in 1843. It has belonged to the Alessandria family since 1870. Jean-Baptiste and his family are the current owners of this estate in the Piedmont region. They perpetuate the family's centuries-old tradition and passion for wine. "It's from the vine that a great wine is born" is the motto of Jean-Baptiste, who personally looks after the vineyard. He strives to preserve the quality and potential already achieved.

The geographical location of Domaine Fratelli Alessandria

Domaine Fratelli Alessandria's 12 hectares of vineyards are its real assets. They are located in the best terroirs of Verduno and Monforte. They are mainly planted with Nebbiolo. There is, however, a strong presence of the region's typical grape varieties. Dolcetto, Barbera and the very special Pelaverga thrive in Verduno. Two white varieties have also found their place: Favorita Indigene and Chardonnay. The estate extends mainly over the vineyards of Monvigliero, Gramolere and San Lorenzo. The heart of the estate lies in the large 18th-century house.

The wines of Domaine Fratelli Alessandria

Domaine Fratelli Alessandria vinifies exclusively its own grapes. Barolo DOCG, the king of Piedmont wines, has similarities with Burgundy wines. Examples include Barolo Rosso Monvigliero, Barolo Rosso Gramolere and Barolo Rosso San Lorenzo. Barolo's younger brother, Langhe Nebbiolo Prinsiot, is a fine, well-balanced red wine. They display notes of rose and violet. A bottle of Barbera d'Alba Rosso or Langhe Rosso Rossoluna offers aromatic, fruity nuances. For white wines, Domaine Fratelli Alessandria produces a fresh, delicate Langhe Favorita with notes of peach and flowers.
