It all began in 1853, when Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild bought Château Brane-Mouton, which became Château Mouton Rothschild , at auction. This was followed by his great-grandson, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, who took over the estate and imposed full bottling at the château. Today, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild's children Camille, Philippe and Julien have taken over the reins of the Château. Over the years, the Château's wines have improved and become true benchmarks for quality

Estate wines

Mouton Rothschild is a wine that won't go unnoticed at a tasting. Its flagship grape variety is

Our youngest vintage is Mouton Rothschild 2017. On the nose, you'll find notes of plums, cherries and candied violets. This wine will require a little patience if you wish to find notes of toast and cinnamon. On the palate, an explosion of black fruits and spices combine for a long finish. Only one year separates the 2009 and 2010 vintages, yet the tasting experience is a major one. The 2009 expresses aromas of undergrowth, earth and mushrooms. The finish is more expressive of black fruit jam. The 2010 vintage reveals notes of ripe fruit and leather. On the palate, solid tannins give this vintage its unique, full-bodied style. And let's not forget the 1985 and 1993 vintages, two rich, well-developed aromatic bouquets! At its peak!
