In 1941, Pierre Charton founded his domaine in Mercurey, on the Côte Châlonnaise. Today, his grandson Vincent Charton runs the family domaine. He is supported by his father, Jean-Pierre, sharing the family's passion for Burgundy wines. The Charton family harvest the grapes entirely by hand, then bring them to the winery in small quantities. The vines are worked with respect for the soil, to maintain a high level of biological activity. Vinification is as non-interventionist as possible.

Geographical location of Domaine CHARTON VINCENT & JEAN-PIERRE

Domaine Charton Vincent & Jean-Pierre's 11.5 hectares of vines are planted on excellent terroirs in the Mercurey appellation. The domaine's vineyards are planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and a parcel of Aligoté. Notable appellations include Clos du Roy. The Mercurey terroir, well known for its unique soil composition, brings pronounced fruit notes to the wine. The Charton fathers and sons produce wines of singular character, reflecting the typicity of their climate.

Domaine CHARTON VINCENT & JEAN-PIERRE wines

Domaine Charton Vincent & Jean-Pierre produces eight red wines, 3 of which are classified as Premier Cru. These include Clos du Roy, followed by two Mercurey premier cru wines, La Chassière and Les Naugues. On the white side, Clos du Roy also offers a Mercurey premier cru. Two regional appellations keep it company. These are Bourgogne Chardonnay Les Chaumes and Bourgogne Aligoté Champ de Perdrix. Domaine Charton wines can be enjoyed young. However, if you make room for them in your cellar, they will stand up well to years of ageing.
