Caroline Morey (wife of winemaker Pierre-Yves Colin Morey), inherited 7 hectares of vines from her father Jean-Marc Morey, when he decided to retire in 2014. The winemaker then reclaimed some precious plots of land. Since then, she has been running her vineyard like a boss, using integrated viticulture methods, with a strong emphasis on soil work and minimal intervention in the vinification of her cuvées. Her aim is to preserve the land as much as possible and ensure the long-term future of her vineyard for generations to come. Aged in demi-muids and bottled without filtration, the wines express themselves in depth. The white wines are fermented in barrels, while the reds are vinified in vats. Caroline produces true masterpieces from a vineyard composed of 80% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. Emblematic grape varieties for light, elegant wines.

Geographical location

The vineyards of Domaine Caroline Morey extend over several parcels - climats of Chassagne-Montrachet, Beaune and Santenay. These rich terroirs enable the wines to take root on marly limestone soils, an exceptional situation ideal for the production of great wines such as those of Caroline Morey.

Domaine wines

The Domaine's first vintage is 2014. Caroline's wines reflect the terroirs from which they are made. The reputation of her Chardonnays is well established: precision, finesse and authenticity are Caroline Morey's watchwords. Several climats to discover: Chassagne-Montrachet Chambrées, Premiers Crus Les Chaumées and Champs Gains. Full-bodied on the palate, these are admirable wines for gourmet tasting.

She also makes reds, notably from Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay Premier Cru La Comme and a Beaune Premier Cru Les Grèves. These parcels draw their energy from well-drained limestone soils, producing wines of great elegance, smoothness and gourmandise.
