Created in 2006, Domaine Thomas Morey belongs to the young guard of Burgundy wines. Born into an illustrious family of Chassagne-Montrachet winemakers, Thomas Morey has broken away from tradition. His wines are lightly oaked, marked by a balance of elegance and finesse. Domaine Thomas Morey is supported by a prestigious Côte de Beaune white wine, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. Its production also includes a fine collection of Premiers Crus, both red and white.

Location of Domaine Thomas Morey

Domaine Thomas Morey is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, Côte-d'Or. This Côte de Beaune terroir is made up of climates with brown clay-limestone soils that are fairly stony. With a total surface area of 12.5 hectares, the estate comprises two-thirds Chardonnay parcels and one-third Pinot Noir. Domaine Thomas Morey also covers the terroirs of Maranges, Santenay, Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and Beaune.

Domaine Thomas Morey wines

Domaine Thomas Morey grows its vines organically. The Chardonnay plots are harvested early to preserve the fruit's acidity. Fermentation is natural. Red wines are unfiltered. White wines are aged on lees until bottling, after 11 months.

In white wine, Domaine Thomas Morey stands out for its Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. In Chassagne-Montrachet, it also offers Premiers Crus Les Baudines, Les Embrazées, Morgeot, Vide Bourse, Les Chenevottes and Les Dents de Chien. As for the Premiers Crus whites, the domaine produces Puligny-Montrachet La Truffière, Saint-Aubin Le Puits and Beaune Les Grèves. These wines are complemented by a Chassagne-Montrachet and a Saint-Aubin Village. In the Burgundy appellation, the domaine offers an Aligoté and a Chardonnay.

On the red side, Domaine Thomas Morey produces three Premiers Crus. These are Maranges La Fuissière, Santenay Clos Rousseau and Beaune Les Grèves. They are joined by Santenay Vieilles Vignes, Chassagne-Montrachet and Bourgogne Pinot Noir.
