The Fournier family has lived in the village of Marsannay since the 17th century. In 1962, Jean Fournier joined the ranks of Burgundy wine producers. In 2003, his son Laurent took over the reins of the domaine. He obtained organic farming certification in 2008. This passionate winemaker ensures that each wine expresses all the finesse of the terroir. Domaine Jean Fournier was awarded its first star in the Guide Vert in 2022. In the same year, it was listed as one of the "Coup de Coeur" wines in the Guide Hachette des Vins.

Location of Domaine Jean Fournier

Domaine Jean Fournier is located on rue du Château in Marsannay-La-Côte. The vineyard covers more than 20 hectares. The main vines are planted in Côte de Nuits appellations: Marsannay Cuvée Saint-Urbain, Clos du Roy and Les Longeroies, as well as Gevrey-Chambertin. The vineyard also covers three Côte de Beaune appellations: Aloxe-Corton, Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses.

This wealth of terroirs enables the Fournier family to produce an organic range of 25 wines. Pinot Noir is the main grape variety grown by Domaine Jean Fournier. In parallel, the vineyard is planted with around 20% white grape varieties. These are Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Aligoté.

Domaine Jean Fournier wines

Domaine Jean Fournier produces white, red and rosé wines from various Côte-d'Or appellations d'origine contrôlée. Its cellar is divided into three categories: cuvées rondes, terroirs and spéciales.

The cuvées rondes are entry-level wines. The domaine offers the only Rosé appellation in Burgundy: Marsannay Rosé. Cuvées terroirs are wines of character made from a single grape variety. Three red wines stand out: Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Les Champeaux, Corton Grand Cru Le Rognet and Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Maupertui. The special cuvées are Vieilles Vignes wines. Among them, the Côte de Nuits Village cuvée is the fruit of a renowned terroir: Les Croix Violettes.
