LACHAUX CHARLES

Charles Lachaux belongs to the promising new generation of Burgundy winemakers. He grew up and learned his trade at Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, now run by his mother Florence. Alongside his work at the family domaine, the young winemaker created Domaine Charles Lachaux, a Burgundy wine trading business. For each of the appellations he markets, he aims to offer a singular wine that reflects its terroir and vintage. Charles Lachaux is inspired by the work of Lalou Bize-Leroy and her systemic approach to life.

Location of Domaine Charles Lachaux

Domaine Charles Lachaux is located in Vosne-Romanée, between Dijon and Beaune. The domaine's partner vineyards are spread across the prestigious villages of the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. To produce wines that live up to his ideal, the winemaker selects vines cultivated organically and biodynamically by partner winemakers.

Charles Lachaux's aim is to produce healthy, well-balanced fruit that asserts the character of the wine. No chemical treatments, but natural preparations to help the vines adapt to the conditions encountered. Harvesting is done by hand by Charles Lachaux and his team. Finally, winemaking is gentle and low-intervention.
