If there's one Côte de Nuits house that cultivates discretion, it's undoubtedly Domaine Desaunay-Bissey. This family estate was born in Flagey-Échezeaux, from the collaboration of Bruno Desaunay and his father-in-law Daniel Bissey. Combining tradition and respect for the terroir, the vines are cultivated using the "lutte raisonnée" method. Herbicides and pesticides have been banned since 2007.

The work in the cellar, where all the grapes are destemmed, is marked by great rigor. The wines are aged for long periods, up to 18 months for the red cuvees, with a 30% rotation of new barrels. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration. These high-quality cuvées are part of our selection of great Burgundy wines.

Geographical location of Domaine Desaunay-Bissey

Domaine Desaunay-Bissey's 6 hectares of vines stretch over 5 communes of the Côte de Nuits. The parcels are divided between Flagey-Échezeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée and Gevrey-Chambertin.

Many old vines, some dating back nearly 110 years, draw their nutrients from the clay-limestone soils of this exceptional terroir. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Aligoté take pride of place. Evocatively named lieux-dits include Les Grands Échezeaux, Les Beaux Monts and La Combe d'Orveaux.

Domaine Desaunay-Bissey wines

Domaine Desaunay-Bissey wines are renowned for their finesse and longevity. Top of the list are the 2 Grands Crus: Vieilles Vignes Échezeaux and Vieilles Vignes Grands Échezeaux. There are also 2 Premiers Crus in Vosne-Romanée: Les Rouges and Les Beaux Monts.

Chambolle-Musigny produces the Premier Cru La Combe d'Orveau. And there's Les Belles Croix in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Finally, let's not forget two white wines from the Burgundy appellation, one made from Aligoté and the other from Chardonnay.
