MARQUIS D'ANGERVILLE
Price €58.00 150 cl

In 1804, the ancestor of the Marquis d'Angerville bought the Domaine du Clos des Ducs in Volnay, Burgundy. Its vineyards include prestigious and historic parcels such as Taillepieds, Caillerets and Champans. These parcels have been part of the Domaine des Ducs de Bourgogne since the 12th century. Almost 200 years later, Guillaume, the grandson of the Marquis d'Angerville, took over the reins of the estate. He cultivates vines and produces wine under the AOC label. Since 2009, Domaine Marquis d'Angerville has practiced biodynamic viticulture. In the cellar, Guillaume uses traditional winemaking techniques, in keeping with the terroirs of the Côte de Beaune.

Location of Domaine Marquis d'Angerville

The d'Angerville family estate is located in Volnay, on the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The vineyard covers 16.5 hectares. Pinot Noir and Gamay are used for the reds, while Chardonnay and Aligoté are used for the whites. The Volnay terroir is one of the best in the region and is world-renowned. The estate includes 11.5 hectares of parcels in the Volnay Premier Cru appellation. The vineyards also extend into the communes of Meursault and Pommard.

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville wines

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville produces mainly Pinot Noir Volnay AOC. With its hectares of vineyards in the Volnay Premier Cru appellation, the vineyard produces eight different wines: Caillerets, Champans, Clos des Angles, Fremiet, Mitans, Pitures and Taillepieds. But the estate's emblematic Premier Cru remains Volnay Clos des Ducs, the estate's monopoly. For a bottle of Volnay in the Village appellation, you can count on a Grandchamps or a Pluchots. The domaine also offers a Premier Cru de Pommard. For white wines, a Premier Cru de Meursault-Santenots promises fruity notes. The regional appellation includes a Pinot Noir, a Passetoutgrain (Pinot Noir and Gamay), a Chardonnay and an Aligoté.
