Since 1909, Domaine Lapierre Marcel has pursued the quest for an absolute: excellence. In 3 generations, from Marcel to Camille and Mathieu today, the Lapierre family has combined people, soil, climate and grape variety. Since Marcel Lapierre met Jules Chauvet (father of natural wines) in 1981, the famous Beaujolais wine estate has been the standard-bearer for natural, living, authentic wine.

Their expertise in méthode douce means they can now produce natural wines with consistency and quality. Certified organic and biodynamic, the Lapierre family estate has chosen to let fruit and terroir speak for themselves, to the delight of wine lovers.

Geographical location of Domaine Lapierre Marcel

Domaine Lapierre Marcel covers 18 hectares of vines. It has its roots in the village of Villié-Morgon, in the northern part of the Beaujolais terroir. The estate's soils are mainly granitic. Further south, the Côte de Py parcel covers 2 hectares of bluestone and schist soil.

The nature of these Morgon terroirs is unique: poor soils composed of "rotten rock" and a temperate oceanic climate. The eastern exposure of the vines guarantees optimal sunshine. This happy combination favors the expression of the Gamay Noir grape variety. The grapes come from vines that are an average of 60 years old.

Domaine Lapierre Marcel wines

Domaine Lapierre Marcel produces mainly AOC Morgon red wines. The Lapierre family winemakers offer the following cuvées: Morgon, Cuvée Camille (Côte de Py), Cuvée Marcel Lapierre (century-old vines) and Raisins Gaulois (young vines). Finally, a Beaujolais is produced on 2.5 hectares of vines at Lancié. All Domaine Lapierre wines are the result ofviticulture and vinification methods that respect both vines and fruit.
