A much sought-after estate worldwide, Jean-François Coche-Dury is a world-renowned winemaker. His son Raphael has been at the helm for ten years now, and the wines have not changed. The estate's only requirement: quality. The estate developed further in the second half of the 20th century, when Jean-François' father, George Coche, began selling his wines in bottles. Originally, the domaine sold in bulk to Burgundy wine merchants. Jean-François saw his name mentioned for the first time on the labels of the 1973 vintage. A great source of pride!

Jean-François remains modest, concentrating solely on the natural expression of his terroir and the meticulous vinification and ageing of his wines. Systematic ploughing, reduced yields: voluntary practices that perpetuate the estate's reputation. He vinifies in barrels, half of which are renewed each year. Bottling is done the old-fashioned way, by hand. Jean-François is known for his delicate, natural approach to each plot, and buys new ones as the years go by. Between freshness and salinity, his main motivation is to give dimension to the wine, an enveloping substance on the palate providing exceptional length. Domaine Coche-Dury wines are cult favorites, ranking first among white wines in Burgundy. The domaine's small production of reds testifies to unequalled finesse.

Geographical location

The Domaine has its roots in Meursault in the Côte de Beaune. It covers some ten hectares in Meursault, as well as parcels in the Monthélie, Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Auxey-Duresses and Corton Charlemagne appellations.

The domaine's wines

Chardonnay is Domaine Coche-Dury's signature grape variety. Jean-François also works with Aligoté. 80% of the vineyard is planted with white grapes. For the small production of reds, the Domaine works with Pinot Noir.

The whites are characterized by complex wines of great density and purity! They feature aromas of vine flowers and dried fruit. The reds, for their part, are represented by red fruits, with extreme finesse and unique length. For each of the Domaine's cuvées, these are wines for laying down, which for the most part express themselves fully after around fifteen years.
