MORTET DENIS

Domaine Denis Mortet is above all a family story. In 1956, Charles Mortet bought the first parcel of this Burgundy vineyard. His son, Denis, succeeded him in 1992 and developed the domaine. When he passed away in 2006, it was the turn of his own son, Arnaud, to take up the torch. Accompanied by his mother and sister, he preserves his father's legacy. Arnaud Mortet practices integrated viticulture to maintain the health of his vines. As a result, each bottle of red wine is the fruit of meticulous care and respect for the terroir, the vines and the grapes.

Geographical location of Domaine Denis Mortet

When Denis Mortet took over the domaine, he had vines in Gevrey-Chambertin, Vougeot and Chambolle-Musigny. Today, the vineyard comprises 16 hectares of vines on the Côte de Nuits. Domaine Denis Mortet stretches from Daix to Vougeot. It owns around a hundred parcels in different climates, including Fixin, Marsannay, Gevrey-Chambertin, En Derée, Au Vellé, En Champs and En Motrot. The Mortet family's presence on these prestigious Burgundy terroirs enables them to diversify their red wine cuvées.

Domaine Denis Mortet wines

On his land, Arnaud Mortet cultivates the famous Côte de Nuits grape variety: Pinot Noir. Domaine Denis Mortet offers Grand Cru red wines. These include Mazis-Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot, an excellent wine for laying down. Domaine Denis Mortet also offers several Premiers Crus from Gevrey-Chambertin, including a Lavaux Saint-Jacques. These red wines are intense in color and ripe in flavor. As for the Premier Cru de Chambolle-Musigny, it stands out for its delicacy. The domaine's wine list is rounded out by cuvées of Pinot Noir in the Burgundy appellation (cuvée de Noble Souche), Marsannay (les Longeroies) and Fixin (Vieilles Vignes and Champs Pennebaut).
